The Suzuki
Swift has claimed its first one-two on a
Junior World Championship rally thanks to
Guy Wilks and P-G Andersson! In total, the
Swift set 15 fastest times out of 21 stages
- on the quickest and most exhilarating
stages that the World Championship has to
offer! P-G now leads the Junior World Rally
Championship, while Guy moves up to third
place. Both Suzuki drivers are now in a
strong position to capitalise on their excellent
results on the last two rounds of the championship,
in Turkey and Great Britain...

Guy Wilks (1st in JWRC
after SS21):
"Fantastic! I'm absolutely delighted with
this result, although today has been quite nerve-wracking!
I concentrated on getting the car safely to the
finish after what has been a very tough and very
fast rally. We've had no mechanical issues at
all, and I'd like to thank everybody at Suzuki
for building a car that is reliable as it is quick.
We've got the momentum behind us now, so we need
to focus on doing another equally good job on
the next two rounds of the championship. I'm sure
we have the capability to do it."
P-G Andersson (2nd in
JWRC after SS21):
"Finland is a really special event: three
days of flat-out driving on stages that are so
exciting for both drivers and spectators. This
year was really difficult because of the rain
on the first day and the really rough conditions
throughout all three days. We lost a bit of time
with punctures, but I'm very happy with second
place as it allows us to take the lead of the
championship again. There's everything to play
for now - I can't wait!”
Nobuhiro'Monster' Tajima, team principal:
"I am very happy with this result - congratulations
to Guy, P-G and the entire team. This is as good
as it gets! Rally Finland requires good balance
from the car and total commitment from the drivers.
Both these things have made our one-two result
possible for everybody to see. I would like to
thank everybody who has supported us so far -
we are going to be doing our best to continue
this progress over the next two rounds. We will
see you there!"
