FIA Junior World Rally Championship 2009

Suzuki Sport Europe makes plan to take back the FIA Junior World Rally Championship in 2009

Since 2003, Suzuki Sport Europe has provided professional rally assistance and support for European customers. With this experience, Suzuki Sport Europe challenges the championship with the Swift S1600 and three promising drivers to claim the title again.

As in his second year with Suzuki Sport Europe, Polish young driver Michal Kosciuszko will drive the Swift S1600 again. Remarkably, he won his debut victory on the Rally d'Italia Sardegna, round three of the 2008 JWRC last year and he demonstrated his aggressive driving ability throughout the whole year. His talent shines on gravel especially, and once he enters a rhythm, his speed is definitely at the peak of JWRC ability and nobody doubts that he is one of the drivers closest to the champion title.

Aaron Burkart also joins Suzuki Sport Europe this year. He finished second in the 2008 JWRC championship, and is known as talented young driver in his home country of Germany. His speed is evident whether on tarmac or gravel, with impressive stage times on both surfaces; this is one of his strongest points. As he claimed the "runner-up" title in last years Junior World Rally Championship, he has made a big improvement and he will demonstrate to us fantastic performance with the Swift S1600, but this year's aim undeniably is to claim the JWRC championship title.

Italian driver, Simone Bertolotti also joins Suzuki Sport Europe for 2009. This is the second year he takes part in the JWRC and his main target is to get more and more experience utilizing the professional and skillful support and assistance of the Suzuki Sport Europe Team, with the experience of the team and the undoubted success of the Swift S1600 he will be able to concentrate on improving his speed and driving ability.

With these talented young drivers, Mr. Ishii, the team manager of Suzuki Sport Europe says,
"We will set our primary goal this year to claim the JWRC champion title once again. To achieve this aim, we have expanded from a two car team to three. Luckily, we can support Michal again as we did last year, and Aaron who took second position in the 2008 JWRC. In addition, we have also a young Italian driver Simone. They are all talented and each driver has different characteristics. As ever Suzuki Sport Europe will endeavor to attain the highest standard of support and assistance to our drivers in our efforts to claim the 2009 JWRC title."
