Preview ADAC Rallye Deutschland:

The 6th annual ADAC Rallye Deutschland, the 5th round of the FIA Junior Rally Championship, will be held from August 17th till Aug 19th. The Rallye Deutschland was held for the first time in 2002, integrating 3 events originally held in Frankfurt, Mainz and Koblenz.

The ADAC Rallye Deutschland is held in one of the most beautiful areas in Germany. Trier, where the rally headquarters are located, is about 40km east of Luxemburg and is close to France and Belgium. It is Germany's oldest city. Facing the Mosel river, the city was a strategic place during ancient Roman times.

The Mosel region is well-known for ham and sausage and is the biggest wine-producing area in Germany. You can also see a few old castles among the vineyards. It is the best place to view German history and enjoy its culture.

Though the rally is entirely held on tarmac, there are wide variations in the course characteristics. The different surfaces such as narrow roads along the Mosel river, the Zaarland high-speed zone or the slippery military training ground in Baumholder bother crews and rally cars but also make this rally very challenging.

P-G Andersson who is currently leading the championship and Urmo Aava, second in standings, will attend this event with a SUZUKI Swift Super1600 manufactured by Suzuki Sport Europe. Jaan Molder and Aigar Pars will also participate with a Swift Super1600 .

The ADAC Rallye Deutschland will start at 20:00 on August 16th. The ceremonial start will be held at Porta Nigra (black gate), the 1800 year-old city gate. The total length is 1227 km and includes 19 special stages (covering 365 km).
The rally will end on the 19th in Trier.
